Our Inclusive Recreation Program provides welcoming and accessible recreation opportunities for individuals with intellectual and/or physical disabilities. Current offerings include day programming, special events, Special Olympics sanctioned sports, and other activities designed to encourage movement, connection, and participation. As the program grows, we look forward to expanding inclusive recreation opportunities for individuals of varying ages, abilities, and interests.
Inclusive Recreation offers regular programming Monday through Thursday, water aerobics, drum class, and BINGO. Offerings rotate throughout the month, so be sure to check the calendar for current classes and activities. All programs are free of charge unless otherwise noted.

Decatur Parks & Recreation offers multiple sports through Special Olympics which provides individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities the opportunity to participate in year-round sports training and athletic competitions. Athletes of all skill levels can build fitness, develop new skills and enjoy the excitement of friendly competition in a supportive, inclusive environment.
Through participation, athletes gain confidence, teamwork and a sense of accomplishment while connecting with a welcoming community. The program celebrates ability, encourages personal growth and empowers every participant to to reach their full potential.
