The City of Decatur's Geographic Information System (GIS) is a function of the Information Systems Department that provides mapping and spatial data services that support City operations and enhance public access to information.
GIS manages and analyzes location-based data, transforming it into interactive maps, applications, and visualizations that help City staff make informed decisions about planning, public safety, infrastructure, engineering, economic development, and many other municipal services. GIS helps improve efficiency, support informed decision-making, and make location-based information easily accessible to residents, businesses, and visitors.
