Department Functions / Responsibilities:
The Beautification Department is responsible for the City’s Right of Way (City of Decatur Ordinance 16-14.1) mowing and litter pickup. This department also enforces the City’s codes on illegal dump sites (City of Decatur Ordinances 19-3 and 19-4).
Beautification has several crews that operates Monday through Friday, maintaining alleyways, clearing highway litter, and deploying strategically across the city. As a versatile and vital team, they seamlessly support other departments and rapidly address emerging needs. We deeply appreciate their dedicated service.
